#xmasmini: The Plan

In the abundance of time I spend browsing miniature blogs, sites, YouTube channels and reddit I’ve seen a number of these Mini-Swaps and secret Santa type deals.

And I thought @CadianShock is a good painter, how can I get him to buy and paint me a model…. I’m kidding… Kind of. And better yet he agreed, sucker!

But seriously he has skills and we have been talking a while and chatting hobby, tactics and beyond. So I thought, I’ll approach him about doing one of these collaborations/mini swaps.

So here’s the idea, we both spend time looking at each other’s armies and look at what HQ choices we don’t have. We then pick one out and paint it in secret. Well as secret as you can whilst sharing our progress with you guys on Twitter and our blogs. The hope is to give you hobby inspiration and maybe in spire you to do something similar.

What you all need to know is that we will be showcasing our efforts on Twitter mainly using the hash tag #xmasmini so keep an eye out.

So check your friends list, your followers lists or blog roll. Find someone you have a rapport with and as them is they want to do the same!

It’s not about getting a great painted model, we encourage anyone to get involved. Even if you can’t paint, the effort thought and camaraderie are the important part. Even if it’s a janky paint job when you play that model you’re gonna see the effort someone in our community put into giving you something awesome.

It’s not all fun and game thought, these are the rules covering costs, timings and mini selection.

So, keep an eye out on progress you can follow us @ResinJunkie and @CadianShock. The idea is to keep it as secret as possible from each other until we see the final results at Christmas. Do keep and eye on his progress for me, the lads never painted an Ork!

I hope you choose to follow this endeavour and possibly start one of your own! Remember #xmasmini!

Disclaimer

If you do decide to do this then please do, but its of course a risk getting a complete stranger to buy and paint a mini for you. This is only a suggestion. Cadian Shock or ResinJunkie are not responsible for your experience should you wish to try this little project.
